Telling Our Stories

Burke+Okrent is about women – telling our stories. Stories of the women over 50 who take our surveys; about admirable women; from personal experience; and about good things to check out. Look for them on our website www.burkeandokrent.com, on Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Here is what you will find:

• Stories that come out of the patterns we observe and insights we develop from the thousands of women over 50 who take our surveys and participate in the activities we lead. These are your stories, too from which you can find validation and encouragement that you are not alone in the continuing development of your life.

• Stories of admirable women who have blazed the trail for us and who are blazing the trail right now. As their works are noted, we will share information about them. Some will be well known and some deserve to be better known.

• Stories from our personal experience that help us get to know one another. The idea for sharing our own stories came from our colleague, Amy Chin, who noted that every time we meet, we talk about how we draw strength from our family traditions, childhood memories, and food. We will offer our reflections and we invite you to share yours.

• And finally, we will share resources and sources of support, especially during this pandemic: books about women, articles about resilience, good movies, and TV shows to stream. We will share them as we find them and invite you to share your suggestions as well.

This business of starting a business in a pandemic is a challenge. We are word people and we want to share our words with you – women telling our stories.
